  • Vacancy Procurement Officer

    Great Lakes University of Kisumu is a chartered private regional Christian university based in Kisumu Kenya, and focuses on teaching, research and community partnerships as its core mandate.

    The university is inviting suitable applicants for the position of Procurement Officer.

    Applicants must among other qualifications have:

    1. A Master ’s Degree in the following disciplines; Procurement and Supplies Management; Procurement and Logistics Management  or its equivalent from a recognized University;
    2. Must have served a s Assistant or Senior Assistant Procurement Officer in a busy institution for at least five (5) years.
    3. Thorough Knowledge of procurement regulations
    4. Experience in tender preparation; tender analysis; and verification of tender documents; financial analysis of tenders; and suppliers selection.
    5. Must be a registered member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
    6. A CIPS qualification.

    Applications should be sent to the vice-chancellor to be received not later than 25th May, 2015.

Ugandan President compliments GLUK’s name and Courses

Image 1 His Exellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda publicly acknowledged his admiration for the name Great Lakes University of Kisumu.  While addressing guests during the launch of the GLUK Educational Trust Fund, the Ugandan head of state repeatedly lauded GLUK's vision of choosing a name that envisioned a united and more focused Great Lakes region.

President Museveni also commended GLUK on offering an academic course on agribusiness, elucidating that making money out of agriculture was a key factor in driving poverty out of the great lakes region. The Great Lakes region in Africa consists of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, DRC, Rwanda, and Burundi.
