    Great Lakes University of Kisumu is a chartered private regional Christian university based in Kisumu Kenya, and focuses on teaching, research and community partnerships as its core mandate.

    The university is inviting suitable applicants for the position of vice-chancellor.

    Applicants must among other qualifications have:

    · An earned doctorate degree
    · Experience in academic administration
    · Proven capacity for resource mobilisation
    · High-quality research output
    · Strategic partnerships and networks
    · In-depth knowledge of current global trends in higher education teaching and learning
    · Experience in the use of technology for managing service delivery and knowledge management
    · Evangelical Christian faith in testimony and practice.

  • 11th Annual Scientific Conference of TICH 2014 - Gallery

    Great Lakes University of Kisumu,  Main Campus (Kibos)

    The theme for this year was “Innovative Community Research and Sustained Impact”.

    The aim of this year’s conference was to examine and share research leading to innovations pertaining to public health in various settings both locally and internationally.

Education Department Launch

Image 3 The Great Lakes University of Kisumu has officially launched its department of Education. In a well attended function on the 25th of February at Garang Hall in Kibos, over 500 guests from various high schools and institutions of higher learning graced the occasion. The Guest of honor was the Nyanza Provincial Director of Education Mr. Geoffrey Cherongis.

 

The head of the new department Dr. Hazel Mumbo predicted that the Education department would soon be large enough to be a faculty of its own within the University. She stated that plans were already in progress to initiate a Masters and PhD in Education before the end of 2012.

Invites applicants  for  the January 2014 intake
The program is largely by research though there are a number of research courses taught.

The taught courses run for a duration of six months but may be staggered as may be convenient to students and staff.
