MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Great Lakes University of Kisumu is composed of six departments as: Education, Business Administration, Theology and CRE, Information Technology, Agribusiness Management, Tourism and Hospitality.
Department of Business Studies: This includes three fields: Business Administration, Information Technology, Tourism and Hospitality.
Department of Agribusiness Management: This is a standalone department dealing with various courses of Agriculture and extended options such as Fundamentals of Agricultural Education, Agricultural Communication & Technology and Farm Management during Teaching Practice
Department of Education & CRE: It is composed of several fields and academic programs which include education foundations, Humanities, Sciences, Linguistics and Theology and Christian Religious Education. The different academic programs are offered at Diploma, Bachelor, Masters, and PhD levels. Postgraduate students can specialize in different options common in their field of study. The academic programs are offered at various campuses, including Kibos and Kisumu, and Westlands in Nairobi. The studies are also available through ODEL system.
The programs of studies are developed to integrate social responsibility and integrity without forgetting professionalism in various fields. Class work culminates in industrial attachment.
Your Community Partner: This is the motto of Great Lakes University of Kisumu and the departments as well.GLUK also participates in community services. Staff members take students to visit local communities and engage in interactive learning and support.
