







ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
Tour guiding coupled with effective interpretation of natural and cultural tourism resources is at the core of quality tourist experience. It is this realization that has informed the development of the program in tour guiding and operation management. The program is unique as it combines both aspects of tour guiding and tour operations. Thus, the expected outcome upon successful completion is a person who is skilled in not only tour guiding and interpretation of both cultural and natural heritage but also one who has the ability to administer and manage tours both on a local and international scale. The target market for the program include form four leavers, KWS rangers and practitioners without formal training in tour guiding and tour operations management. The program duration is two years with a provision for educational tours in national parks and reserves. It also include industrial attachment in tour companies and centers for both natural and cultural attraction.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
a) Applicants to the program must meet the minimum University requirements for admission to Diploma studies, with C (C Plain) in the KCSE, or equivalent at a minimum grade of C- in three of the following subjects at KCSE.
- Biology/ Biological sciences/ Chemistry/Physical Sciences/ Physics/Mathematics
- Geography
- 3.English/Kiswahili/Foreign language

b) Certificate holder in a related area from a recognized institution with a C – (C minus) or equivalent and two years’ work experience in a Tourism and Wildlife related field
