PUBLIC NOTICE

In 2024, Baraton College and 105 of its students filed at the High Court of Kenya at Eldoret Constitutional Petition No. 032 of 2024 against the Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK) following GLUK’s decision not to graduate those students. The decision was based on the fact that the students had not been trained or examined by GLUK and therefore did not meet the requirements for the conferment and award of degrees, diplomas, and certificates as requested by Baraton College.

Baraton College and the 105 students have since withdrawn the said petition and the cross petition from court.

This withdrawal was done by the Petitioners and Cross Petitioner of their own initiative and there is no agreement or understanding with GLUK and must not in anyway taken to imply the existence of any such agreement or understanding.
GLUK’s position and therefore the status of the 105 student petitioners remains unchanged: The 105 students are not eligible for the conferment and award of degrees, diplomas, or certificates by GLUK.
