The Center for Research, Innovation, and Emerging Technologies in Cognition (CORTEX) is a flagship initiative of Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK), dedicated to advancing research, training, and transformative solutions in the cognitive sciences. Rooted in Cognitive Neuroscience, psychology, and education, CORTEX serves as a dynamic hub where cutting-edge technology meets human development, promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and innovation for the 21st century.

Digital Transformation for Neurodiversity Inclusion in Africa and Asia (AAN-DI)
An EU-funded Erasmus+ CBHE project promoting neuroinclusion through digital training and mobility.
Child Functioning Studies
Pioneering research for studying attention, learning, and socio-emotional development in children in low- and middle-income settings.
Child Functioning Lab
The Child Functioning Lab is an international research group pioneering research and innovation dedicated to advancing knowledge and practices that support children’s cognitive, emotional, social, and academic development. At the Child Functioning Lab, we are dedicated to understanding and enhancing the cognitive and socio-emotional development of children. Our interdisciplinary research explores how children think, learn, regulate emotions, and interact with others — especially in contexts of neurodiversity, educational inequality, and low-resource environments.
